GENELEC Young Talent Award 2008
“Creating My Personal Studio”
To celebrate the company’s 30th Anniversary, Genelec announces an open contest to all audio professionals and hobbyists around the world. We want to help young audio enthusiasts ahead in their careers and support our fans in pursuit of the best audio quality available. The purpose of this contest is to share our experiences in studio work and monitor setup in order to get better in what we all do.What do I need to do?
To enter the contest, you need to write a Short Story about your personal studio monitoring system and how it helps you to create good recordings.Write down how and why you have entered this business and what is your current working environment. Monitors are the last piece of the puzzle in the studio, the end result is audible through this precise tool. Tell us how you use your monitors, have you calibrated them properly to your environment, how did you end up using Genelec, what do you especially like about them.
Also if you have experienced problems with your studio it is a sign of professionalism if you can tell us how did you overcome the obstacles when installing your equipment. If you have already completed some work in your studio, it is beneficial to let us know and hear the end result and where it can be found. Your studio can be a big installation with many rooms or just a laptop with some 8020A’s, that makes no difference to us.
What is in it for me?
In this contest we will be rewarding the '10 Best Stories', not the fanciest studio with the best references. So pay attention to the language you use and your description of the monitoring section especially. The awards will be:
1st Prize
A pair of 8050A monitors
2nd- 3rd Prizes
A pair of 8040A monitors
4th – 6th Prizes
A pair of 8030A monitors
7th – 10th Prizes
A pair of 8020A monitors
We will also give out randomly among all participants some Genelec 30th anniversary promotional items.
Genelec Oy reserves the right to use the materials submitted to this contest in future marketing activities.
