How do I wire-up and configure my surround sound system?

There are many ways to set up a surround sound system - some of them are right and many of them are wrong! The method described below is the one that satisfies the majority of cases

  • Connect the Left, Center and Right outputs of the mixing console directly to the Left, Center and Right inputs of the 7060B, 7070A, 7071A or 7073A. The scheme is also valid for discontinued 1092A and 1094A.
  • Connect the Rear Left, Rear Center and Rear Right outputs of the mixing console directly to the Rear Left, Rear Center and Rear Right inputs of the 7060B, 7070A, 7071A or 7073A.
  • Connect the LFE output of the mixing console to the LFE input (Sub input on older products) of the 7060B, 7070A, 7071A or 7073A. Also valid for discontinued 1092A and 1094A (older subwoofer models do not have this input so re-route the LFE to the Center channel output of the mixing console)

This method is compatible with 6.1 and 5.1 systems (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc), matrix decoders (Dolby Surround), stereo and mono reproduction with no rewiring required.
