Genelec, DTS, Steinberg, Soundfield and Real Traps teamed up at the AES in San Francisco to show sound engineers how to successfully produce surround sound mixes. Starting with an acoustically treated space, monitors should be installed according to international recommendations. A Soundfield microphone can be used to capture a coincident representation of the sound at a point in space and mixed with Nuendo. The final mix can be encoding using the DTS compression algorithm. Hundreds of engineers gave positive feedback on the relevancy and high density of the presented information. Renowned sound engineers Ronald Prent and Steve Parr made special guest star appearances to share their mixing methods
