Walters-Storyk Design Group (WSDG) was chosen to develop all of the architectural and acoustic design of the new facility, including all the engineering work such as structural, electrical and air-conditioning design.

Diante control room side viewThe facility, designed by WSDG is divided in 3 distinct areas The main Studio, with 600 sq.ft. has a 5.1 Control Room with 350 sq.ft , 2 Iso Booths and an equipment room in the ground floor occupying a space of 1500 sq.ft in total. On the first floor, there is another recording room attached to a Control Room and an Edit Room in a 600 sq.ft. area.

Diante studio windowIn order to provide a flexible space for different recording applications, the Studio was equipped with numerous types of variable acoustic panels, including motorized units installed on the ceiling that can be remotely controlled from the Control Room. In this way, after setting up the microphones for a recording session, the engineer can adjust the room acoustic to the desired time response and according to the musical needs. The live room also received a large scattering surface created with special bricks made from recycled materials.

Diante live roomAnother creative and unique solution was the installation of all 3 front Genelec 1032A loudspeakers of the 5.1 surround system inside the front glass structure of the Control Room. This innovative idea represented a great acoustical challenge and resulted in a perfect sight of the entire Studio room as well as the ideal positioning of the front loudspeakers, at ear level, in accordance with the latest professional audio standards.

The Genelec 1032A surround speakers were placed over the equipment racks, on top of a motorized lift system. The position of the equipment racks and the loudspeakers were adjusted for best ergonomics and ideal surround angles and distances to fulfill the ITU standard and thus providing the best sound image for the mixing engineers.

The facility is equipped with the latest ProTools HD3 system and numerous outboard processors, such as SSL, Neve, Manley, TC Electronics and others. A great selection of vintage microphones is also part of this state of the art installation
