Stockfisch is a record label aimed at audiophile fans of guitar-oriented singer-songwriter music and was formed in 1974 by Günter Pauler. Being based in Germany, the main focus is European artists, but there is also a number of musicians from around the world working with Stockfisch. The 8260A monitors has been installed for mixing and mastering work in the studio and will also be used for bespoke live recordings in unorthodox settings thanks to the room calibration possibilities offered by the Genelec GLM™ system.
“After a lot of listening sessions to find a suitable near/midfield-monitor for our Stockfisch Recording Studio,” says Gunther Pauler, founder of Stockfisch Records and Pauler Acoustics, “the Genelec 8260A completely won us over. We will also use the 8260A at our classical recording sessions in concert halls and churches, because it is possible to calibrate the monitors for perfect results - even in compromised acoustical environments.”
The multi-award winning 8260A features Genelec DSP signal processing which is responsible for all loudspeaker functions, such as the crossover filters, driver equalizers, driver position alignment, room response alignment, calibration, and equalization related filters as well as distance compensating delays. The Genelec Loudspeaker Manager™ (GLM™) software manages all these functions allowing the 8260A to be used together with other 8200 Series DSP monitors and 7200 Series subwoofers in the same setup. Genelec AutoCal™ automated room calibration and sound system alignment method provides consistent and accurate frequency response for a multi-channel audio system in widely varying room environments.
