Genelec mid-fields systems are designed for moderate to medium-sized control rooms. Due to their broad bandwidth and high output, they are ideal for either stereo or multichannel music recording studios, mastering houses, broadcasting facilities, editing suites and post-production studios.

All Genelec bi- and tri-amplified active monitors contain active electronic crossovers, overload protection circuitry, versatile room response controls and dedicated power amplifiers. Genelec three-way systems feature a midrange driver designed and hand-made in the Genelec factory in Finland for more than 25 years.

Common to all mid-field systems is the Genelec Advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™). Controlled directivity is associated with neutral sound as it provides smooth frequency response both on- and off-axis, lower driver distortion and increased driver efficiency. Particularly useful in acoustically compromised spaces, stereo and sound stage imaging are improved as the off-axis sound radiation is controlled. Directivity patterns are also matched between models, resulting in very similar sounding, neutral characteristics product range.

The unconventional 1038CF is optimised for applications where a subwoofer is used and features a compact shallow enclosure that is easy to locate. The 1038BC is a compact centre channel version of the 1038B monitor delivered with a separate rack-mounted amplifier unit as standard. It is designed to be used horizontally or vertically with a pair of 1038B's in three channel (LCR) configuration when space is limited.

All Smart Active Monitors (SAM™) DSP models, such as the 8260A, the new 1237A and 1238A and the special 1238CF, feature Genelec AutoCal™ and Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM™) control network technologies which allow adjustments of all aspects of monitor settings and full system control. GLM allows to automatically align every monitor on the network in terms of level, timing, and equalisation of room response anomalies. SAM systems are, by design, straightforward and easy to use, versatile in configuration and adaptable acoustically to nearly any environment you place them in, providing outstanding clarity, definition and neutrality that you can always trust.

Key to the 8260A is the proprietary Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC™) treble/midrange driver perfectly matched with 8260A large DCW™. This breakthrough in coaxial design provides improved imaging and overall sound quality on- and off-axis, as well as extremely smooth frequency response leading to outstanding clarity and definition of the inner details of the music. Genelec new SAM 1237A and 1238A feature exceptional electro-acoustical designs and the latest generation of high efficiency Class D amplification.
