Genelec honoured by Japan’s largest audiovisual awards

Four of Genelec’s most popular active monitors have won highly prestigious awards as part of Japan’s largest celebration of audiovisual technology.

Named ‘VGP 2019 Summer’, the awards ceremony took place in late June, with a list of winners that included electronics giants such as Sony, Panasonic and LG.

When it came to the Pure Audio category, Genelec was the natural choice, winning the Active Monitor sub-category with the 8320 and 8330. Similarly, in the Lifestyle section’s desktop audio category, G One and G Two were selected as the best in their class.

Founded in 1987, the VGP awards sit at the heart of the Japanese electronics industry. All of the awards are presided over by expert panels made up of dozens of industry leaders.

Following the announcement of the awards, the VGP committee explained: "In the rapidly evolving loudspeaker market, GENELEC has remained committed to its core ‘Made in Finland’ philosophy, and it is loved by professionals around the world. Genelec speakers play an important role in connecting listeners, studios and musicians. These products promise an exceptional music experience for every listener."

”It is delightful to see that more and more people are recognising the importance of high quality audio in their listening experience,” said Genelec Managing Director Siamäk Naghian. “For professional audio people, this has always been their focus because, for them, Genelec monitors are a critical tool for quality assurance. It is very encouraging to see the same kind of acceptance and enthusiasm amongst other listeners. We feel privileged to be the bridge between listeners, studios and musicians.”
