The new Genelec 8260A 3-way DSP system is a masterpiece in electro-acoustic design which combines advances in audio driver technology, integrated into a sophisticated enclosure design. Featuring breakthrough MDC™ Minimum Diffraction Coaxial Mid/High driver technology, it delivers accurate imaging and sound quality both on the acoustical axis as well as off-axis. The smooth frequency response leads to outstanding clarity and definition of the inner details of the music.
The 8260A features Genelec DSP signal processing responsible for all loudspeaker functions, such as the crossover filters, driver equalizers, driver position alignment, room response alignment, calibration, and equalization related filters as well as distance compensating delays. The Genelec Loudspeaker Manager™ (GLM™) software manages all these functions allowing the 8260A to be used together with other 8200 Series DSP monitors and 7200 Series subwoofers in the same setup. Genelec AutoCal™ automated room calibration and sound system alignment method provides consistent and accurate frequency response for a multichannel audio system in widely varying room environments.
The 8260A is housed in a die-cast aluminum Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™ (MDE™) with acoustically optimized rounded edges to prevent diffractions and yielding superb sound stage imaging. The robust enclosure is also completely immune to vibrations. Each 8260A also comes with an Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) which eliminates coloration of the sound by decoupling the monitor from its mounting surface. For ideal mounting in differing environments, the 8260A includes integrated rear support points for various floor and wall stands.
The new 4020A and 4030A from Genelec are high performance, two-way active loudspeakers designed for indoor commercial and professional installations. They have new connectivity and installation features that will be of major benefit to professional installers.
Both of the models in the new 4000 Series are fitted with ‘Phoenix’ screw terminals in common with many other leading products in the sector. This new input method ensures an easy, secure connection, which delivers interference-free, professional quality sound. The audio performance and stress-free installation is further enhanced by the 4000 Series’ integrated amplifier.
The in-built protection circuitry will also guarantee the reliability of the loudspeaker system in all operating conditions, drivers are electronically protected from signal peaks and misuse of the system. This single assembly, combination chassis, makes for a surprisingly compact and powerful amplified loudspeaker system which is easy to install and can be discreetly integrated into end-user environments of all types and design.
The precise ‘Room Response’ controls including calibrated bass tilt, treble tilt and bass roll-off, optimize the loudspeaker’s response to different acoustical environments and guarantee first-class sound whatever the interior design. Mounting is also simple: the integrated support points for Omnimount 20.5 series hardware on the enclosure back panel, and the 3/8” UNC threaded hole at the base of the enclosure and the wide variety of mounting options and accessories available from Genelec, provide versatility and choice to suit all installation scenarios.
The Genelec 9000A Stereo Volume Control provides a convenient volume control interface for all Genelec loudspeakers. The volume control input and output have 3.5mm stereo male and female connectors, so a suitable 3.5 mm male to 2 x RCA or XLR male converter cable to match the signal inputs of the loudspeaker is all that is required.
