Genelec Artist Room - Pratt & Moody feat. Verneri Pohjola
Helsinki-based Tuomo & Markus have recorded several 7” soul singles for Timmion Records Stylar-imprint under the alias Pratt & Moody. The offshoot project began shortly after Timmion Records Jukka Sarapää cut the vinyl master for Tuomo & Markus debut album ’Dead Circles’. While mastering the album Sarapää fell in love with the duo’s unique vocal blend and approached them about recording a series of old school soul tracks.
The first 7” release Lost Lost Lost was conceived in 2017. The debut single became an instant hit in the retro-soul circles, selling several thousand copies in Southern California alone. The soundscapes of classic late 60's West Coast soul proved to have cinematic qualities, attracting the ears of American music supervisors (Lost Lost Lost has been featured in various American TV shows, films and documentaries).
Tuomo & Markus - founded by soul/jazz artist Tuomo Prättälä and Americana singer/songwriter Markus Nordenstreng - have been showcasing Pratt & Moody tracks at their live shows and Lost Lost Lost has become one of the highlights of their setlist. The six-piece live lineup features Finnish jazz trumpet sensation Verneri Pohjola. Tuomo & Markus feat Verneri Pohjola will perform at New York's Winter JazzFest 2019 and SXSW 2019.
