The Ones Hit The Road in Finland
Genelec’s worldwide series of ‘Meet The Ones’ events continued in August with an extensive two week roadshow across Finland.
Throughout the tour, the Ones family of coaxial three-way active monitors was presented to an enthusiastic audience in a specially-equipped motorhome-style show truck, which was driven to locations in the heart of each of Finland’s major towns and cities.

The truck installation showcased two modern but contrasting audio systems. The studio installation included the entire Ones series – comprising the 8331, 8341 and 8351 models - with the corresponding 7350, 7360 and 7370 subwoofers. All the monitors were configured and accurately calibrated for the truck’s acoustic environment using Genelec’s GLM software application, and visitors were able to audition both a broad selection of high-quality commercial tracks via Tidal streaming and AVID hardware, and full multitrack Pro Tools mix projects.
An equally impressive - and highly addictive - 3D gaming system was created using a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos format, with five 8341s in the traditional surround positions, one 7360 subwoofer, and four 8331s functioning as overhead monitors. Visitors could test their driving skills with a highly realistic car driving computer game, with video coming from VR glasses and audio from The Ones’ immersive set-up.

During the roadshow, Genelec co-operated with Finnish AVID distributor MSonic, who provided the Pro Tools installation, MTRX interface and S3+dock control units, creating a real-world studio environment in which to demonstrate both AVID and Genelec products.

The Ones Road Show was the first time that we’ve truly ‘gone mobile’ and met customers this way, and it proved to be a really valuable experience - allowing us to meet thousands of audio pros, home studio owners, hifi enthusiasts and other people simply interested in great audio.
