Our Commitment to Cultural Responsibility

A note from Genelec Managing Director Siamäk Naghian
From the beginning, we have seen ourselves as creators, bringing the same creativity and passion to the design and crafting of our loudspeaker systems as those who use them to express their artistry and vision. Each one we build is the result of this creative mindset, carefully engineered to inspire and empower artistic expression. This commitment to creativity is something I immediately felt when I joined the company.
On my first visit to our factory and headquarters, I was completely fascinated by the world I stepped into. Surrounded by nature, art and curiosity, I felt an immediate connection to the environment and the people. It was clear that this was a place where art and culture are not only appreciated but celebrated and thoroughly integrated into the company’s essence.
As I arrived, everything I had imagined suddenly became real. In front of me was a lakeside view, with a warm, soft lawn reaching out to distant forests. The nearby trees, lush and green, surrounded a single bare tree standing in the middle, silent and still. Its empty branches seemed to tell a story, capturing the quiet soul of the place, where the sounds of nature, cherished by the people here for decades, came to life.
This experience reflects the world we live in, and the things we do that bring joy to others both near and far – just as they bring joy to us.
At Genelec, we don’t just appreciate art and culture, we enable it. Our monitors are essential tools for audio professionals, designed to empower artistic expression and creativity. Whether used by musicians, sound engineers or artists, these monitors help bring their work to life, translating vision into sound with precision and authenticity.
On a deeper, often subconscious level, we may not always notice the art and culture that surrounds us. These things are so seamlessly integrated into our daily lives that we may take them for granted. But if they were to suddenly disappear, their absence would be strongly felt – reminding us just how essential they are to our identity and well-being.
The strong connection to art and culture that our founders fostered continues to inspire everything we do at Genelec. It shapes our approach to sustainability, our dedication to the communities we serve and our commitment to making a meaningful impact on the world.
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to honouring this legacy – celebrating richness of culture, supporting the arts and ensuring that creativity remains at the heart of Genelec. This commitment is reflected in our inclusion of cultural initiatives as part of our focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting the essential role culture plays in our sustainability strategy.
