At this year's NAMM show, attendees had the opportunity to explore the future-focused Innovation Lounge and witness firsthand the latest cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning, Audio Platforms, Cloud Computing, Game Audio, Artificial Intelligence, and Immersive Audio. The lounge, hosted by GPU Audio, featured our 7.1.4 immersive system, comprising of three 8361A (L-C-R), four 8351B (sides & surrounds), four 8341A (overhead array), and a 7380A Subwoofer.
Expert panel discussions, in-depth presentations, and performances were also available to guests. The first panel discussion, "Rise of the Machines: Surviving the AI Music Apocalypse," was moderated by Jonathan Wyner and featured Ale Koretzky, Alexander Wankhammer, Andrew Fyfe, and Zach Evans.
Another panel, "The Impact of Immersive Audio on our Digital Future," was moderated by GPU Audio's Jonathan Rowden and included panelists Jean-Marc Jot, Jacqueline Bosnjak, Christian Sander, Nuno Fonseca, and Genelec Inc.'s Will Eggleston.
On both Thursday and Friday guests had the opportunity to listen to Producer & Engineer Sylvia Massy discuss her recent Dolby Atmos mixes of Evanesance, Patchy Sanders, NHC and more.
MixBusTV and Dweezil Zappa also premiered the new single by Bella Kelly in stereo and then again in Dolby Atmos to explain the difference in the mixing process, followed by a Q&A session.
Visitors also got to experience performances by Qosmo’s Nao Takui, futuristic code-drummer Battery, and the world-renowned Richard Devine in 7.1.4.
The Innovation Lounge also featured daily demonstrations by GPU Audio, Splice, Vienna Symphonic Library, MNTRA, Mach1, Qosmo, and Harmonai.
Overall, the event offered a unique and informative experience for attendees to stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry.
Our proudest moment of NAMM was when we were presented with two TEC awards, for both GLM GRADE™ (Genelec Room Acoustic Data Evaluation) and 6040R Smart Active Loudspeaker.
