Genelec 8340A Wins PIPA Award

Continuing our phenomenal winning streak of industry awards, the Genelec 8340A received the Prolight + Sound International Press Award (PIPA) for Best Studio Monitor at this month’s show in Frankfurt.
Now in its fourth year, PIPA is awarded to ‘outstanding products’ in the recording, pro-audio and lighting/video categories. Chosen by a jury of international trade visitors, the awards are presented at a special ceremony during the show, attended by over 300 representatives from both manufacturers and distributors.
The 8340A - which also recently scooped the Best Monitor prize in Future Music’s Gear of the Year Awards - is one of the latest additions to the SAM Compact Studio Monitor range, having been launched alongside its larger 8350A sibling at last year’s Prolight + Sound show.
The 8340A has quickly established itself as the trusted monitoring choice of facilities worldwide. Boasting a 6.5” woofer and 0.75” tweeter - each powered by 150W of our most efficient Class-D amplification to date - the two-way, bi-amplified monitor represents a finely balanced union of acoustic expertise and SAM™ innovation.
Additionally, Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) 2.0 software allows for the fine adjustment of all monitor settings, while AutoCal™ compensates for detrimental room influences to perfectly calibrate your set-up for your listening environment, whether you work in simple stereo or ambitious immersive audio.
We’d like to thank everyone for voting for us – we’re truly honoured, once again!
Anders Nyman, Genelec
