Genelec offers key knowledge to young audio engineers in Leipzig, Germany
Over two inspiring days, the event’s programme featured a variety of workshops, seminars, and presentations covering audio and immersive production. As part of our supportive approach to the audio engineering community, we were delighted to offer expert insight at the event in the hope of guiding upcoming talents towards their goals.

Christian Birkner of HTWK organised the event
Genelec Regional Business Manager and respected Immersive Audio Engineer Eric Horstmann brought attendees right into his workflow for immersive mixing, giving them a first-hand experience of how he crafts compelling soundscapes. Eric also took on a special challenge on the second day, where, together with the participants, he created a 3D mix of a song he had never heard before – further opening up his process.

Genelec Senior Customer Experience Specialist Marcel Schechter offered a broad presentation about the interaction between loudspeakers and room acoustics, leading into the benefits and possibilities provided by high-quality monitoring and precise system calibration.

While the first day was held at the HTWK Leipzig, the second day took place at the SAE institute. There, we set up a compact 7.1.4 immersive system featuring our 8340 and 8330 SAM™ Monitors and 7360 SAM Subwoofer. The setup powered a series of valuable presentations, including from Hans-Martin Buff, GRAMMY winner for the immersive version of Peter Gabriel’s album i/o, and Lasse Nipkow, 3D audio expert.

Enthusiastic about the interaction at AUXeins, Marcel comments, “Many thanks to the organisers and, of course, to all participants, whose keen interest and active engagement made the event everything we at Genelec hoped for – a stimulating exchange of ideas on today’s key topics, with a clear focus on the fields shaping the future and the people who will help define it.”
