GLM 15 Years
Celebrating 15 years of truthful reference monitoring
Back in 2006, our Smart Active Monitors and GLM 1.0 calibration software combined to produce a monitoring system that could be optimised for any acoustic environment.
Fifteen years later, our new GLM 4.1 delivers a more precise frequency response and much faster calibration speeds, thanks to the next generation AutoCal 2 automatic room calibration algorithm.
So why not get involved by checking out GLM 4.1, and entering our anniversary contest below?
Now, that really is something worth celebrating!
Congratulations to our two competition winners!
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve reviewed all entries and picked two people at random to receive the prizes.
Everyone that entered deserves a big thank you from all of us at Genelec - the many different ways that you’ve explained your experiences of and hopes for GLM have made us extra proud of our software, for its 15 year history and its future.
Our winners are Paul Griffith and Lucas Masson, congratulations to you both! Paul and Lucas have both chosen to receive RAW 8330 monitors as their prize. To our other entrants, we encourage you to try your luck again in our future competitions.
Here’s to the next 15 years and to all of you with us on this journey.
Still hungry to learn more about GLM? Here’s where to start.
Here is a few of our favourite entries, so you can check out what the community is saying about GLM. Thank you sincerely to everyone that made an entry to the competition, we hope to hear from you again in the future!
For over 15 years, GLM software has worked with our Smart Active Monitors to minimise the unwanted acoustic influences of your room and help your mixes sound great, everywhere. Among other new features, GLM 4.2 introduces the powerful new GRADE report, extending GLM's scope beyond ultra-precise system calibration to in-depth room and system analysis.

To enable GLM software to integrate with your Smart Active Monitors, you’ll need the Genelec network adaptor kit (8300-601) – which includes the GLM network adaptor, 8300A calibration microphone and microphone holder, 1.8 metre USB cable and Quick Connection Guide. The network adaptor connects to your Mac or PC via the supplied USB cable, and to your monitors via an 5 metre Ethernet cable (which is supplied separately with each SAM monitor).
