GLM 4 shortlisted for 2022 TEC Award

We’re pleased to share the news that our GLM 4 loudspeaker manager software has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Production Essentials category of the 2022 TEC Awards. Additionally, our new US Experience Centre near Boston has been shortlisted in the Studio Design Projects category, thanks to the excellent work of Francis Manzella’s FM Design team.

All TEC finalists were selected from a pool of hundreds of entries, which were reviewed and voted upon by an extensive panel of sound and music industry thought leaders in the United States and abroad. Public voting is open from January 20th through April 30th, 2022 and can be accessed here.

Based on decades of research data from thousands of studios worldwide, GLM 4 integrates seamlessly with the intelligent DSP hardware within each Genelec Smart Active Monitor, allowing each monitor and subwoofer to be networked, configured and individually calibrated for your specific acoustic environment.

Launched in December 2020, the next-generation GLM 4 provides Mac Catalina and Big Sur compatibility, an elegant new user interface, and a host of valuable new features. By minimising the room’s negative acoustic influence on sound quality, GLM 4 provides an unrivalled and truthful sonic reference - wherever you choose to work. GLM 4 therefore powers creativity, producing mixes that translate consistently to other rooms and playback systems.

Shortlisted as a Creative TEC finalist, our new US Experience Centre joins existing Genelec demonstration facilities in the UK, Germany, China and India, to allow customers to experience Genelec monitors and subwoofers in configurations from stereo through to 9.1.6 immersive formats.

The facility is a total rebuild of a former surround sound demo studio designed in-house in 2004 by Genelec’s Will Eggleston. Eggleston called on world-renowned studio architect and designer Francis Manzella, President and Principal Designer at FM Design, to create a new aesthetic and acoustical treatments for the renovated space, which serves as a mix room, a theatre and a research and test centre for new software and other technology.
